Landscapes
A landscape is both a look and a dialogue with the environment that surrounds me. It could be observed or photographed. Either way, I try to capture a precise, present moment tainted with serene anxiety to freeze the time being.
Caricatures
Caricature drawings are artistic works made with various techniques such as charcoal pencils, graphite, greasy pencils, and watercolors, among others.
I also usually use watercolors, tempera, acrylics, Indian ink, pen and fibers, depending on the needs of the graphic medium for which they are intended.
Publications
I was born on March 2, 1959. I spent my childhood and teenage years in the city of Bolivar, in the province of Buenos Aires.
In the early ’80s, already settled in the city of La Plata, I published some drawings in different print media in Buenos Aires, with my caricatures first appearing on the covers of MAD magazine (Argentine Edition).
I went on working for different newspapers such as Clarín, La Nación, Perfil and El Día, in the city of La Plata. I created illustrations for children’s books for the publishers Sudamericana, Planeta, Longseller, Era Naciente, Oxford University Press, R.E.I. Quipu among others.
Suburban Landscapes
I have taken part in different drawing and painting exhibitions of provincial and national nature. I have received first prizes, many of them acquisitions, so several of my works have become part of the heritage of museums, private entities, and state organizations.
I continued working for different newspapers such as Clarín, La Nación, Perfil and El Día, from La Plata. I made illustrations for children’s books for the publishers Sudamericana, Planeta, Longseller, Era Naciente, Oxford University Press, R.E.I. Quipu and many more.
Horses
Drawing horses gives me the possibility to enjoy the recreation of certain eras to the fullest. I can also execute structural analytical approaches, depending on the breed referred to in each case.
Cinema has shaped me as a keen observer since I was a child. Films instilled in me the desire to capture images of the riders and horses I saw on the screen. I was able to do so, in different stages of my career as an illustrator.
Fantasy Riders
In these proposals, usually cinema is the path to fantasy that brings about conexions derived from both the images and music. These elements converge in my memory records, turning recollections into sensitive products susceptible to transformation of the resulting image.
